Altar of Repose

Every Holy Thursday (April 2nd) we celebrate Jesus’ gift of the Last Supper and the institution of the Eucharist, the center of our faith. But that is not where our prayer has to end. After Holy Thursday Mass, Jesus present in the Eucharist is placed on a side altar so that we can spend time with Him during His agony in the garden.

After spending time with Jesus at the altar, it is customary to travel and spend time with Him at other altars in the area. All are invited to celebrate this tradition starting here at St. Jude after the 7:00pm Mass and then again at the below locations. This tradition is a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to see our neighboring parish communities.

St. Jude will close the evening with Night Prayer at 11PM.
