RELIGIOUS EDUCATION | Policies and Fees
Religious Education Policies
Listed below are some of the main policies for the Religious Education Program.
1. No new registrations will be accepted after November 1 unless a family has moved into the area or a child is transferring from another program.
2. The student to teacher ratio shall be no more than 15:1. Students will be assigned to a classroom on a first come-first serve basis. The order of classroom assignments will be based upon the postmark of the returned registration forms. If we have more students than available catechists, a waiting list will be created. As new catechists come forward, students will be removed from the waiting list and given a classroom assignment. Students on a waiting list will be notified in June. Classroom assignments will be mailed by the end of August.
3. If a child is entering the program for the first time and is enrolling in a grade where a sacrament is received (2nd or 11th) and he/she was not in a Religious Education Program/Catholic School the previous year, he/she will be placed in Grade 1 or 10 respectively, so that they can receive sufficient religious training before receiving the sacrament.

Sacramental Fee for 2nd graders: $25 per student
Confirmation Retreat Fee: $50
Registration Materials: will come out in mid-May
Registrations Materials Due: June 15 with a $50 deposit
Full Payment Due: October 31
Late fees will be charged for registrations postmarked after June 15. There will be a late registration fee of $10 for any family that turns in their registration form (not payment) after June 15.
Waiting List: Please remember that classes will be filled on a first come first serve basis using the postmark on your envelope as my guide. Classes will have no more than 15 students per teacher. (This is another reason why I would encourage you to consider being a catechist.) This information will be repeated in the May registration letter.
New Catechists: I am always looking for more catechists. Although more details regarding specific grades where catechists are needed will be detailed in the registration letter, I know that I will need at least 4 catechists on Monday night, 1 for high school and 4 Confirmation small-group leaders. Next year, my primary concern is getting individuals to teach with a catechist who has already been teaching. This way, the load is shared and you can learn from this person’s experience as well as mine.
Registration materials for next year will be mailed to you by mid-May. If you have not received them by May 20, please call the office. Please update the information that you have provided in the past. More details will come with the registration.
